August is Episodic Disabilities Awareness Month and for 2026 our theme is “Beyond the Good Days”. This acknowledges that for many people, a good day isn’t a lack of disability; it is simply one point in an ongoing and fluctuating cycle. Realize will be hosting two online workshops to mark the month. The first will be Creating Workplaces for Women with Episodic Disability on August 5th at 1pm ET. The second will be Episodic Disabilities at Work on August 26th at 1:30pm ET. We will also be creating a social media campaign for the month to highlight that the unpredictability of episodic disabilities can be very challenging and that support systems, including workplace accommodation, must be designed considering these needs.
Creating Workplaces for Women with Episodic Disability
August 5th at 1pm ET.
This session is focused on ways to build inclusive workplaces for women and gender-diverse people with episodic disabilities. Our exciting new workshop has been developed to help employers, managers, supervisors, and HR staff build awareness and create meaningful change surrounding accessibility and accommodation in Canadian workplaces. The session will spotlight individuals with lived experience of autism and neurodivergence at work. We will share important statistics and provide resources and tips on how to create accessible and inclusive work environments for neurodivergent women and gender-diverse people.

Episodic Disabilities at Work
August 26th at 1:30pm ET
Realize invites you to a virtual conversation exploring the lived realities of episodic disabilities in the workplace with a special focus on fluctuating capacity.
Many workplaces reward constant over productivity and uninterrupted output, leaving little space for the human reality of having both good days and bad. While disability is often assumed to be constant, episodic disabilities can be invisible, unpredictable, and variable, requiring a more flexible and responsive approach to inclusion and accommodation.
This FREE workshop is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of what capacity looks like beyond the good days, and to learn how to support employees whose abilities may shift over time. This session is ideal for employers, managers, supervisors, and HR staff supporting employees with episodic disabilities.
