“The post-secondary education system in Canada often fails to meet the needs of students living with episodic disabilities”, according to a literature review commissioned by the Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) and shared on Friday, January 23rd 2015 at the first ever Think Tank on Episodic Disabilities and Post-Secondary Education in Canada, held at the Courtyard Marriott, downtown Toronto.
The Think Tank aptly titled “Post-Secondary Students Living with Episodic Disabilities: What Do They Need for Success?” offered invited experts from all stakeholder groups – government and policy-makers, faculty, administrative staff and disability service providers from post-secondary institutions, representatives from disability organizations and students – the opportunity to engage in dialogue and to identify the issues impacting post-secondary students living with episodic disabilities, as well as the possible solutions to meet their needs.
