On behalf of the Board and staff at Realize, I wish all Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Asexual, Intersex folks, and allies a Happy Pride this summer. Whether you take part in any of the many events taking place across Canada (and beyond) over the next two months or celebrate Pride more quietly, please know that we embrace you and support you –always!

Our 25-year journey at Realize to foster positive change for people living with HIV and other episodic disabilities has been intertwined with the fight for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and the rights of other minority communities. This includes support for older adults living with HIV and people living with disabilities who struggle for inclusion not only in broader society but also within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community itself. It’s important to celebrate and support our community in all of its diversity!

In recent years, anti-2SLGBTQI+ sentiments have become increasingly toxic and more prevalent around the world. In the face of this organized attack on human rights, equity, and inclusion, we must stand together, louder, prouder, fiercer, and even more fabulous.
