Episode 1 helps listeners understand what episodic disabilities are, and we meet Sandy, who suffers from treatment-resistant depression and relentless suicidal ideation. Her story is riveting, harrowing, moving and eye-opening, helping us to understand what it’s like to not have the will to live. Listen now.
Episode 2 explores the global loneliness epidemic. One in four people who read this suffers from loneliness, which can lead to long-term anxiety and/or depression in just 10 days. Two people who identify as lonely offer their relatable stories, and an expert shares his knowledge. Plus we find out about how to bring a sense of belonging into a key aspect of our lives: the workplace. Listen now.
Episode 3 is about a miracle. We are bearing witness to the first generation of people with HIV living to see older age. This episode takes us back in time to the horror movie that was the HIV/AIDS epidemic at its worst, and then to CAHR, the annual Canadian Association for HIV Research for a live panel discussion sharing the results of a leading-edge study on HIV and ageing, led by Realize. Listen now.
