Realize is proud to be working alongside a dedicated group of community partners to take the first steps toward addressing a striking information gap regarding the unique lived experiences of people aging with HIV from African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities in Canada. In February, to mark ACB Canadian HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and Black History Month, Realize, the Canadian HIV/AIDS Black, African and Caribbean Network (CHABAC) and the Memorial University School of Social Work, through Dr. Delores V. Mullings, hosted a webinar to push these experiences to the fore. On the webinar, themes emerging from focus groups and interviews conducted with older members of ACB communities affected by HIV, and those who provide services to them, were shared with participants from across the country. Stay tuned for a new resource which highlights the strengths and challenges facing people aging with HIV from these communities which will be launched this summer!
